The Big Weekender – #25,#50,#61,#72

As the title suggests it’s been a big weekend knocking four of the bad boys off the list. Phat post alert.

#50. Fly a kite – It’s with special thanks to Kirsty B for organising this one and a big shout out to Laurie and Christian who helped make the magic happen. It was a very enjoyable evening despite being muscled out of our spot by  bunch of knobs playing Aussie Rules football #windymiller

# 72. Stand on top of a castle

Over the weekend I headed to South Wales with Richard and we headed to the picturesque Caerphilly Castle, it was a bit of a logistical nightmare trying to organise the photo but if you squint you can make me out on the top 🙂

Castle

#25. Go to a major sporting event

This one came very closely after number 72. We headed from Caerphilly to Cardiff, to the Millennium Stadium to watch the aptly named Judgement Day. We watched the double-derby extravaganza of the Cardiff Blues vs. Scarlets and Newport Gwent Dragons vs. Ospreys, which was great fun. There was also a little cheeky appearance from Rhydian.

#61. Ride in a convertible with the top down

And finally I managed to ride in a convertible with the top down. It was a unique sight driving around South Wales without being covered in torrential rain but it was great fun blasting around the wonderful countryside.

#24. Make a sculpture

Not sure how you define a sculpture but I have been working on this random objet d’art for about a week now, and I think it’s the best thing you’ll ever get out of me… It started life as a bunch of coffee stirrers, which went through various interpretations, which somehow came to be a “LadPad™ Coat of Arms” and a set of deer horns…don’t ask!

#67. Make something in origami & #68. Tie a cool knot

Two more crafty things off the list

67. Make something in origami – This was much tougher than I thought it would be and you should see the pile of failed attempts :-/ . I think the orange crane is my favourite, with the swan in second place and the windmill can do one to be honest he’s useless!

68. Tie a cool knot – I took this to the next level and decided to put lots of knots together and turn it into a bracelet thing, which looks rather fetching if I do say so myself. The chosen few already have their copies of this and I am doing requests so get your orders in soon!

That’s it.

#36. Solve a Rubik’s Cube !

He’s only gone and bloody done it.photo-6

This is a massive one for me and something I never thought would be possible when I set myself the challenge. I am pleased to announce that I have managed to solve a Rubik’s Cube without the aid of the guide/solution solver and it is all wonderfully documented below!!!

I am happy to prove this to anyone who is willing to sit in a room with me for 10mins in silence.

Wow I am chuffed at this!!

#22 & #23 – Go a month without chocolate and fizzy drinks

This isn’t the most dramatic or ambitious on the list but for me was definitely a challenge. I wasn’t a choco or fizzy drink aholic but I would have them at least 3/4 times a week. Overall I felt no ill effects during the month and incredibly I think I dropped a couple of kg’s as a result of cutting out the unnecessary calories.

This ones short but sweet and April is gonna be the big one – NOT DRINKING BOOZE FOR AN ENTIRE MONTH…..!

over and out.
