#22 & #23 – Go a month without chocolate and fizzy drinks

This isn’t the most dramatic or ambitious on the list but for me was definitely a challenge. I wasn’t a choco or fizzy drink aholic but I would have them at least 3/4 times a week. Overall I felt no ill effects during the month and incredibly I think I dropped a couple of kg’s as a result of cutting out the unnecessary calories.

This ones short but sweet and April is gonna be the big one – NOT DRINKING BOOZE FOR AN ENTIRE MONTH…..!

over and out.

#2. Paint something I’m proud enough to put on my wall

Considering I have never painted anything before (apart from the odd bit of interior decorating), this one felt like a daunting challenge which is why I have attempted it early in the year.

I decided to chuck myself fully into this one and had a go at 3 paintings, being and odds game I thought I would get at least one salvageable piece to put on the wall…

To my utter surprise the outcome has not been totally sh*t! Hurrah…

The fruits of my labour are below.

More More More! (#10,#15,#16 & #58)

Big update this time around and despite suffering with man flu I’ve smashed through 4 big’ns off the list!

#58 – Complete a puzzle

This one took a while and the help of pretty much everyone whose come round the lad pad in the last 3weeks. I completed the Poundland, 1000 piece, sexy lady puzzle – yes you read that right! What an achievement…

#15  Visit the Tate /  #16 Take the Emirates Sky thing

Whilst my parents were down at the weekend we managed to tick off another two beauts, visiting the Tate and riding that Emirates Air-line thing. Both where actually really cool and it was great to do them with the rentals. Pics below.

#10 – Read a book on Greek Mythology

Annddd finally, I have completed this one, despite having started it at christmas (it’s taken a little while to get through it). There was some really interesting insights from the book and a surprising amount of similarities to Jeudo-Christian “religion”. There’s and old and new version of the mythology, there are evil serpents, biblical floods and lots of heroes and demons.

That’s it for me!

#84. Skim a stone somewhere picturesque

It’s been a long weekend but thankfully I’ve managed to complete #84.

The location was on the Chichester Harbour near the quaint village of Itchenor near Portsmouth, on a long walk as part of the Urban Family Christmas. It was a little bizarre to be celebrating christmas again on a warm March weekend but I was cordially invited to join in this age old tradition. The weekend was a whole heap of fun with much boozing, walking and laughing.

Excellent!

#39. Finish off learning how to juggle sticks

With a little naked cameo from my housemate Jim, I have completed another one of my challenges. That makes 8 so far and it’s March already, damn I better pick up my game otherwise I’m never going to complete this list.

Proof of my juggling ability

3 More completed – #18, #40, #90

G’day.

It’s taken a few days to update the blog but that’s because I am on the other side of the world and internet access has been scarce to say the least. I am currently in the Melbourne National Library which I have to say is a gorgeous building and a nice venue to update the wealth of people reading the blog.

This leads me on nicely to the completion the first of the three – # 18. Visit another continent. For the last week and a half I have been residing in sunny Australia, which as many of know is in another continent all together. It’s been a jam packed couple of weeks, starting in Melbourne and getting a camper van and driving up to Sydney via the Blue Mountains, Canberra and back to Melbourne.

It’s been a wonderful trip with my traveling partner Richard, who has been a great companion and kept me fully entertained a long the way.  Enjoy a selection of some of the photos from the trip, I will add more to Facebook if anyone was interested.

#40. Grow a beard and keep it for a month

This one I have to admit wasn’t documented properly. You will have to take my word (and you can ask around if you wish) that it was completed, having a full and sexy beard for the entire month of January. I put the fact that I didn’t document this properly down to excitement and bemusement of getting ready to go to Oz. Anyways below is a sexy plane selfie pic of my beard on the 1st of Feb, after one months growth!

#90. Go to a concert

I am smashing through these. After a bit of research I managed to wangle some tickets (they weren’t cheap!) to see The National in the forecourt of the Sydney Opera House. It really was a spectacular venue with the beautifully lit Opera House in the background of the gig. The National played a compressive set of the majority of their back-catalog. It was a once in a lifetime gig and I am thankful we got to go!

That’s it from Oz. Laters!
